connecting policy, practice, and people

For over 25 years, I’ve worked at the intersection of trauma, systems, and relationship—designing policies, leading programs, and offering therapy to support children, youth, and families across the globe. My path began with a BA in History from Yale and deepened through joint degrees in Clinical Social Work and International Human Rights Law from Columbia.

As a therapist, social worker, and practitioner, I’ve worked in more than 20 countries—from refugee camps and conflict zones to city agencies and global institutions. I hold Uruguayan, American, and British citizenships and am a native Spanish and English speaker, bringing a cross-cultural lens to every context I enter. My experience spans the intimacy of clinical work and the complexity of large-scale system design, always grounded in the belief that we’re shaped not only by what happens to us, but by how we’re met.

Whether in therapy or consulting, I approach each relationship with curiosity, care, and an eye toward connection as the ground of meaningful change.

uruguayan influence

I feel a deep connection to Uruguay—the country of my roots and home to two of the most inspirational people in my life. My mother, who devoted herself to raising my brother and me with unwavering love and care. And my grandmother, whose courage and lifelong commitment to justice instilled in me the values that continue to guide my work today.
